SoloProtect

Unlocking website localisation for a leading provider of employee safety solutions

background

SoloProtect provides a wide range of employee safety solutions, including devices and an app to help companies keep lone workers safe. Their technology is used worldwide with 32,000+ lone workers engaged and protected.

SoloProtect had existing websites in the US, UK, France, Netherlands and Germany across two separate platforms. They wanted to combine their websites into one site that could appeal to users in all regions. SoloProtect has an in-house marketing team packed with talent but wanted support with their website on a technical level.

Challenge

SoloProtect had already invested in a new Webflow website for their US market. They saw massive improvements compared to the previous site, but teething issues prevented it from reaching its full potential. Their other sites used different management systems. This created complications and made content updates frustrating.

The solution was simple: use Webflow’s localisation settings to streamline all five sites into one. Localisation goes beyond translation to ensure each audience receives appropriate messaging and language.

Upon inspection of the existing Webflow site, there were several elements that could be improved on desktop and mobile, including an issue with load speed that was likely increasing bounce rate and hindering conversion. There were also incontinences across various pages.

Solution

SoloProtect commissioned P+S to complete a full audit of their sites across website design, UX, content and marketing. Stakeholder information gave us key insights to help us understand the needs of the business and the website’s conversion goals. Conversion rate optimisation (CRO) principles helped our team identify missed opportunities and areas for improvement. We presented our findings back to the SoloProtect team and worked with them to find the best solutions and prioritise our recommendations.

Following the review, it was clear that Webflow would support the improved user experience and enhanced functionality the SoloProtect team wanted – both for themselves and their users.

Our digital design team worked to enhance the user experience and ensured it was ready for localisation. The site was not originally built using Atomic Design and design elements were slightly different across the site. These design elements needed to be rebuilt as components within Webflow. We applied the new components across the site – achieving a higher level of brand consistency and an updated look and feel. This would allow the SoloProtect team to make the most of Webflow’s capabilities in the future when adding new pages. It also ensures updates to the design can be rolled out across all pages, future-proofing the design and ensuring lasting consistency.

We also provided improved technical SEO, streamlined lead generation and data collection and increased page speed by reconfiguring plugins and Salesforce integrations.

The greatest challenge our teams faced was around data migration. We needed to extract the content and data from four international websites in another CMS solution to fit into a new framework. The data was imported into a new Webflow project for the client while their existing site remained unaffected in the background.

SoloProtect were then given access to the new site for translation with local teams to ensure the content was ready for the international audiences.

The result was a frustration-free website that offered an enhanced user experience, simplified content management, and a refreshed component library. The client was pleased with their new site, the opportunities it unlocked, and the efficiencies of having a singular source of truth, localised and controlled via one CMS platform.
