A captivating explainer video for a specialist law firm
As an ESG legal specialist, Burges Salmon helps clients manage environmental, societal and governance risks, and identify the many related opportunities.
In response to the Government’s Net Zero Strategy for decarbonisation, Burges Salmon specialise in four key sectors – built environment, land use and food production, transport, and energy – always demonstrating that when it comes to Net Zero initiatives, they don’t just talk the talk; they walk the walk.
Burges Salmon established a Net Zero Strategy group in 2019, and with every year that passes, businesses are becoming increasingly aware of their own decarbonisation and sustainability responsibilities. The firm was therefore keen to strongly establish its leadership in this area and extend its services to an even broader range of clients.
With campaigns already running to promote its work in the ESG arena, including blog posts, podcasts and speaking events, Burges Salmon was looking for a more engaging method to tell potential clients about its work. It was also important to communicate a unique cross-sector approach, explaining how issues, challenges and trends in one sector impact what happens in others.
The P+S response was an explainer animation – illustrating relatively complex future scenarios and the opportunities and risks they present – in a simple, engaging and entertaining way.
After an in-depth discussion on campaign requirements, we got to work preparing the script and storyboard for an engaging explainer video that communicated Burges Salmon’s expertise in helping businesses achieve their Net Zero goals.
It was important to ensure the content was accurate, so the Burges Salmon team supplied us with an infographic that formed the basis of our storyboard. The image illustrated the four quadrants in which the firm specialises, and the different Net Zero services on offer. It was then our job to weave a coherent narrative around this key visual, which we animated to give the film well-defined chapters and structure.
The outcome was a three-minute video that was fresh and captivating, maintaining the visual cues of the Burges Salmon brand throughout. Thanks to easy-on-the-eye animations and a clear script, the film was informative, engaging, and not overly complicated.
