We say YES to supporting women in business

Fostering inclusivity and equal opportunities – for both our staff and the wider industry– is at the heart of our values as a company.
And we always want to do better. We actively seek out opportunities to learn from expert organisations, consulting with them to create a genuinely fair and supportive workplace.
That’s why we’re delighted to be an official signatory of the Bristol Women in Business Charter.

“Taking care of each other is one of our core values, and that means prioritising the well-being of our employees, focusing on a positive work-life balance and promoting fairness and equality.”
Ailsa Billington, Managing Director
What the Charter stands for
The Charter is the UK’s first city-specific initiative focused on gender equality in business. It’s run by a dedicated team of women and volunteer ambassadors from across Bristol and guides organisations like ours in increasing representation, improving equity and empowering women at all levels.
The Charter has seven goals:
- Promoting flexible and part-time working
- Committing to increasing the number of women at senior and board level
- Ensuring at least one member of the senior executive team reports on gender equality and inclusion
- Encouraging and supporting female employees in lower paid or lower skilled occupations to progress
- Committing to closing the gender pay gap
- Implementing non-discriminatory processes around recruitment, appraisal, personal development and promotion
- Providing mentoring and support to under-represented women
Signatories select all those they would like support with and set related targets, reporting on their progress each year and maintaining their accreditation when these are met.
Our commitment to progress and partnership
By signing the Charter, we’re committing to real, lasting change – in our culture, our processes and how we support the women in our business every day.
As part of our membership, we will be focusing on the following goals:
- Offering more part-time roles across the business
- Promoting key female staff to leadership positions by providing relevant training and development
- Having completed a gender pay-gap report, making progress towards reducing it

Our values in action
“I joined Proctors as a Business Development Executive and I’m now part of the senior leadership team. That journey has been shaped by brilliant mentors, flexibility when I needed it, and a culture that values outcomes over presenteeism. I want every woman here to feel that same sense of opportunity - that progression is possible, and they’ll be supported every step of the way.”
Sophie Jones, Business Development and Marketing Director
Building a more equitable future together
We’re excited to stand alongside other forward-thinking businesses in Bristol who share this ambition. It’s about more than a pledge – it’s about creating a world where gender equality is expected, not exceptional. And we’ll keep pushing forward, guided by our values and the belief that progress is something we achieve together.
