Our commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion
Different perspectives. Better together.
At Proctor + Stevenson, we believe the best work happens when people feel valued, respected and free to be themselves.
Different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives make us stronger. They challenge our thinking, encourage creativity and help us create better work for our clients and the communities we work with.
But creating an inclusive business takes more than good intentions. It means recognising where barriers exist, challenging unfairness and making sure everyone has the opportunity, support and confidence to succeed.
That's why justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) are an important part of how we work, how we treat people and how we continue to grow as a business.
What JEDI means to us
Justice means recognising that not everyone starts from the same place. We're committed to identifying and challenging unfair barriers, discrimination and disadvantage wherever we can make a difference.
Equity means understanding that people have different needs. We want everyone to have access to the support, opportunities and resources they need to thrive, rather than assuming one approach works for all.
Diversity means recognising the value of different identities, backgrounds, experiences and ways of thinking. We want our agency to welcome and benefit from those differences.
Inclusion means creating an environment where people feel they belong, where their voices are heard and where everyone can contribute without fear of discrimination or unfair treatment.
Putting our commitments into practice
Our commitment to JEDI extends beyond our own team. It informs how we operate as a business, how we work with clients and customers, and how we engage with our wider community.
For our people
We're working to build a workplace where everyone is treated fairly, feels psychologically safe and has opportunities to develop.
This includes improving inclusive recruitment practices, challenging unconscious bias, supporting individual needs, encouraging open communication and making career development opportunities fair and transparent.
We recognise that listening is essential. Through employee feedback, surveys and open conversations, we aim to better understand people's experiences and identify where we need to improve.
For our clients and customers
We believe inclusive thinking leads to better ideas and more meaningful communications.
We're committed to treating clients and customers fairly and respectfully, challenging assumptions and considering different perspectives when developing strategies, creative work and digital experiences.
We recognise the importance of accessible and inclusive communications and aim to consider the needs of different audiences in the work we deliver.
For our communities
Our responsibilities don't stop at the agency doors.
We want to contribute positively to the communities we are part of, treating people with dignity and respect and considering how our decisions, partnerships and activities affect others.
We recognise that creating a fairer and more inclusive society requires ongoing learning, listening and action.
Progress, not promises
We know that becoming a more just, equitable, diverse and inclusive business isn't something we can achieve overnight.
Our approach is to listen, learn and take meaningful action.
We've identified priorities around inclusive hiring, psychological safety, training and employee engagement. We'll continue to seek feedback, review our practices and build on these commitments as we learn more.
We won't pretend to have all the answers. But we will take responsibility for our progress, challenge ourselves to improve and make sure our commitment to JEDI is reflected in what we do, not just what we say.
Because a better business is one where everyone has the opportunity to belong, contribute and succeed.
This commitment applies across Proctor + Stevenson's operations, policies, practices, client and customer relationships, and community engagement.
