A stronger digital presence for a credit management specialist
With more than 45 years’ of experience, 500+ clients and £80m in debt recovered every year, Controlaccount knows a thing or two about delivering results. The UK-based debt recovery and credit management specialist works with everyone from SMEs and public sector organisations to major global brands, helping businesses improve cash flow across sectors including logistics, education, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
As the business set its sights on winning more high-value enterprise clients, its digital presence needed to evolve alongside it.
Controlaccount’s existing website had been built as a hard-coded platform meaning the marketing team relied on developer support to make changes and update content. And that made it harder for the team to move quickly, test new ideas and respond to opportunities as they arose.
The brief was about more than a website refresh – we needed to provide a more flexible digital platform that could support an ambitious approach to marketing and growth.
Alongside this, around 80% of inbound leads were coming through channels including Google Ads, LinkedIn, PR and email, but these were predominantly lower-value SME opportunities. Controlaccount wanted to shift the balance, with an ambition of winning two to three higher-value enterprise clients each year across their priority sectors.
We started by migrating Controlaccount’s existing website into Webflow, retaining its core structure, content and commercial functionality. We also spotted a chance to bring the website’s design and user experience (UX) more closely in line with the scale and professionalism of the business and its growing enterprise offering.
The marketing team gained much greater control over the website, reducing reliance on developers and making it easier to update content, test ideas and support new campaigns. At the same time, we protected the SEO performance and existing functionality that was already working hard for the business.
But the website was only part of the opportunity. Alongside the digital rebuild, we helped them develop and launch their first account-based marketing (ABM) campaign, shifting the focus from simply generating more leads to getting in front of the right ones.
The campaign targeted selected high-value accounts within priority sectors, with messaging aimed at senior finance decision-makers. It gave Controlaccount a more focused way to engage the organisations it wanted to win, while giving the new website a clear role within a wider enterprise-growth strategy.
The new website gives Controlaccount a more flexible, modern platform that its marketing team can manage more independently, without requiring developer support for every content change.
It also provides a stronger digital foundation for future campaigns and the business’s ambitions to grow its enterprise client base.

What impressed me most was the extent to which the team genuinely invested themselves in understanding our business, objectives, and target audiences. They took the time to develop a strong grasp of our services, messaging and commercial goals, which meant their recommendations were always grounded in our specific requirements rather than the generic agency approach.
